An event within the scope of "Science Talks" was held at Keçiören Patriotic Martyr Major General Aydoğan Aydın Science High School with the participation of our department head Prof Dr Süleyman ÖZÇELİK and our department vice president Associate Professor Nihan AKIN SÖNMEZ.

Dr. ÖZÇELİK introduced Photonics Science to high school students who are interested in science and science and explained the role of Photonic Technologies in our lives. Emphasizing that just as electronics was the key technology of the past century, photonics will be the key technology of the 21st century, Dr. ÖZÇELİK's presentation was listened with interest, and students learned about many subjects from night vision cameras to photovoltaic systems, from optical tweezers to light detectors. The students were very excited when they learned that these technologies could be developed at Gazi Fotonik.

Stating that the sector needs qualified personnel with Photonics-optical knowledge and this need will increase exponentially, Dr. ÖZÇELİK stated that the graduates of the Photonics Department can advance academically or they can work in companies in the sector, and stated that it is necessary to direct the young people to develop project ideas.

We would like to thank Zafer VARHAN, the Physics teacher, H. Hüseyin ŞAHİN, the school principal, science high school teachers and the students who participated, for contributing to increasing the awareness of the Photonics Department in High Schools and organizing the event.
